About the Event

Join us for a nocturnal adventure at Whites Hill Reserve, part of the Peaks to Points Festival.

Explore Whites Hill after dark with us! Bring your torch and wander through the reserve, where we'll keep our eyes peeled for the fascinating nocturnal creatures that reside here.

Guiding us on this journey is Science Educator, Gary King.

Whites Hill Reserve is a crucial bushland area supporting diverse vegetation, from eucalypt forests to dry rainforests. Within the reserve lies Sankey's Scrub, a significant remnant of dry rainforest housing rare plant species such as Shirley’s tuckeroo, Queensland macadamia nut, prickly snake vine, and white beech.

The varied habitats within Whites Hill create a haven for a wide range of wildlife. Surveys have unveiled an impressive array of species, with 62% of Brisbane's mammals, 18% of reptiles, 33% of amphibians, and 27% of birds found within this 170-hectare reserve.

Among the residents are brushtail possums, owls, koalas, ringtail possums, bush stone-curlews, and carpet pythons. Reserve your spot soon as spaces are limited.
