About the Event
Dr David Manning, an Environmental Scientist will walk participants through how weeds spread, how to identify weeds, how to treat & remove them. David will talk about different methods suitable for certain weeds, from handpulling, digging, cut & pint. method & spraying. Which weeds can or can't be left on the ground & what tools are useful in removing difficult weeds. A short discussion about the "Bradley Method" & how this is used by many bush & creek care group to rehabilitate ecosystems. A short talk about some useful apps you can use to help you identify weeds & how to alert authorities about WONS - Weeds of National Significance.
After the workshop, participants will be given a "What Weed is That? sheet to help them identify the weeds found at the bushcare site & will have some hands on experience in how to remove the weeds.
