About the Event
Celebration of official opening of Cactoblastis Corner - a new Brisbane River park by Cr Nicole Johnston.
Oxley-Chelmer History Group delegates e.g. Marion Mackenzie, Bill Palmer, Rachel Mcfadyen, Trevor Armstrong and others will display & talk about the history of the site and the work undertaken by dedicated teams within the Commonwealth Prickly Pear Board, Queensland Lands Department's Alan Fletcher, Tropical Weeds, Robert Wicks, Field and Overseas Research Stations to achieve successes in helping control invasive plant and animal species via a roving microphone.
Please park your vehicles in adjacent streets & Meet at the Brisbane River end of Ferry Street, Sherwood.
A Covid safe buffet style complimentary breakfast will be provided at 8.30am funded by Cr Nicole Johnston.
Please BYO folding chair if you wish to sit and preferred drinks as juice poppers only will be provided.
The closest public toilets are in neighbouring Sherwood Arboretum via Joseph St.
