About the Event
Join the fun with our Bushcare Team and Hilliards Park Bushcare group to help plant 1500 native seedlings in the ground to expand habitat for our local wildlife at Hilliards Creek Park.
This area is an important wildlife corridor and local residents often spot koalas. At 10am and 11am researchers from University of the Sunshine Coast Detection Dogs for Conservation will be on hand to take you on a guided walk to spot koalas in the wild. You'll learn trade tips and tricks for successfully finding our fluffiest marsupial!
We supply: Plants, tools, sunscreen, insect repellent, gardening gloves, koala spotting walks and a sausage sizzle!
What to bring: Enclosed shoes (gumboots if you have them as it is a wet area), sun protection and drinking water.
Where: Hilliards Park Creek Corridor, Hilliard’s Park Drive, Wellington Point
Parking: Street parking available on Hilliards Park Drive. You'll find additional parking at Fellmonger Park with easy access over the Hillards Creek bridge to the planting area.
Note: Toilet facilities will be available.
We hope to see you there!
